If only words could define you...
As I sat to put in words the friendship that I had with Vatsal, I found it to be a difficult task. Difficult because it was not easy to summarize nearly 3 years of our time spent together. It was a friendship which started of casually when we joined Deloitte together in June 2011, but became one of the defining work relations for me. As we moved on from the training, we were placed in same team and that’s when I came to know him closely as a person.
Vatsal always had the personality that grabbed attention of those around him. Designer smart clothes, care-free attitude and an upbeat walk, along with his love of getting his pictures clicked – these were some of the things that everyone associated with him. But underneath all that was his cheerful, helpful nature could put anyone at ease. Vatsal was the kind of person who would make other’s problems as his own and even went out of his way to help people. Whether it was staying back late to give someone company or dropping someone home, he was the person who would not hesitate or think twice. He demanded Dark Temptation from CCD as his reward and I was always glad to offer that to him. From going out on trips to working crazy hours in office, he had been part of my Hyderabad life.
He showed us all what it meant to be strong by the way he dealt with situations, both personal and professional. I remember how everyone was upset when his mother was not well. The whole floor was silent during those days, because everyone cared for Vatsal. He showed us all that the living was in the moment, the care is in being good to others, and selfless help is still present in this world. It is still hard to believe that he has moved on to some other realm, where there is peace and no suffering. The office seized to be the same place for everyone. The void is something that cannot be filled.
But I strongly believe that we can all learn from his nature and adopt some part of it. He will always be in our prayers and hearts, for there are very few people who leave an impact the way he did. Miss you, brother. Rest in Peace.
